The normalization is important as - it standardizes baseline experimental conditions allowing for direct comparison of vessels - it optimizes vessel response - the sensitivity of the vessel to agonists is stretch dependent - the vessel’s active response is stretch dependent - it allows the user to assess the viability of the tissue
